Adriano: "Everyone at Inter helped me dealing with depression after my father's death"
“After the death of my father, I entered into the tunnel of depression. I was really in a bad shape mentally for at least 3-4 months. I did have psychological support and everyone at Inter was close to me. I decided to return to Brazil and then in 2006, I was back to Sao Paulo (actually it was in 2008). Then I came back to Inter because it was Mourinho that wanted me here but I was not the same. I did not have the same force as before. I wanted to go back to Brazil as I did not have the mental strength to play abroad. I wanted to stay close to my family as I missed them a lot.”
That was Adriano talking to TV Globo about his father’s death, a tragedy that the player just could not withstand, despite the help of Inter who sought in all ways to bring him back to the player he was.
