CdS - Vecino is shutting up critics, proving he's worthy of the 24 million transfer fee

After a timid start, Matias Vecino is shutting up the critics and proving Luciano Spalletti right because last summer, the Inter coach insisted on the then Fiorentina midfielder. The Nerazzurri management listened and paid 24 million (his release clause at the time) to get Spalletti the player that he always wanted.

The breakthrough was the match against Milan, “from then on, Spalletti has not changed team, placing Vecino, together with Gagliardini, in front of the defense with Borja Valero holding the role of trequartista. That tandem in the midfield has given Inter much more protection to the back and also given Vecino a lot more freedom up front. The Uruguayan has Gagliardini to look over his shoulders which gives him more opportunities to gallop forward like he did against Milan and Napoli.”
