Bernard: "Working closely and carefully on the contract of my career"

Bernard: "Working closely and carefully on the contract of my career"

In an interview with Lance, Brazilian footballer Bernard of Shakhtar Donetsk, talks about possible development in contract talk with his club.

“We spoke but we still have some time to figure out how things will evolve. It is a delicate moment and we cannot rush it. We have to sit down again, talk and analyze all the focal points. I am 25 and it could be the contract of my life, of my career. Generally, contracts last four to five years so the next one could come when I am 30 years old. So I have to think about it. There is interest of many big clubs in Europe and that is why I have to stay calm and to pick out the best solution.

“Where would I like to play? Everyone would like to play in the Premier League, La Liga, even the French league where there have been many investments. These three leagues have great visibility and are great for showing off my football. But who knows, I could stay at Shakhtar or go to another club in Europe or Brazil. We will know soon.”
