Zanetti: "Foundacion Pupi, together with Inter, has helped so many children. Everyone at Inter is on board, it is in our DNA"
During an event organized by Fundacion Pupi, Javier Zanetti, Inter vice president, speaks to FC Inter News about his foundation, which was founded 16 years ago.
“There are now more people in our foundation for sure, we are a big family. There have been many beautiful moments and situations that we are very pleased with. This means that our message started in 2001 was heard loud and clear and now the kids are aware of the existence of a positive path.
“We also serve the Inter community too, in a big way because I really like the social part of it and being able to do it for my club gives me further motivation and value. It’s part of Inter’s DNA, I want to involve the people who work for the club, from players to other employees. We have done many initiatives together, we are very happy because we are helping so many people.
“We realized that we could be a model for the poor children when we got here in Milan in 1995. I had the idea before but leaving in Milan and being a footballer did not make me forget about it. I knew I was living an important moment for my career but in my country, there were so many children who suffered. So through Paula and my friends, we created this foundation and have been helping these kids for 16 years.
“We have done so much together with Inter. We are proud of the first initiative at cancer hospitals where I brought a player from the first team, one from the Primavera team, one from the women’s team, other employees and a sponsor, in that case it was Pirelli. Another time when we went to Beccaria prison. The best thing is that everyone wants to be part of it. This is the value that I would like to emphasize because it is in the DNA of this club. Inter Campus internationally, Inter Community for the city of Milan: we are happy to be able to do it.”
