Pietro Pellegri, the chosen one

Pietro Pellegri, the chosen one

A predestined one. Pietro Pellegri, turned 16 years old on March 17, 3 games and a goal of record (first goal scored by a 2001-born player, on May 28 at the Olimpico against Roma) in the last season with Genoa. He was born West of Genoa in Pegli, very close to the Rossoblu headquarters in Villa Rostan. A true talent even when he was a child. In 2007 when Pellegri was six years old, he started playing in Pegliese. Alexsandro Bazzigalupi, the first coach of Pietro, remembers him as a potential champion: “It has always been this way, he was always ahead of other children. Strong physically and solid mentally. But to me, his family made special impression. They are good people, his parents are very close to him but at the same time willing to him to space.” Pietro’s father was Genoa Primavera team manager but with the return of Ivan Juric on the bench of the Rossoblu, Marco Pellegri was promoted to the same position with the first team.

Very strong with his left foot and great in the air, Pietro then went to Genoa in 2009 and started his journey of growing in the youth sector of Genoa, a system that for years is capable of raising great talents. No fear even when he is coming to Inter because Pietro’s strong personality will help a lot. He will still be able to grow with Genoa in the next two years.
