Agent: "Patrik's problem? Nothing serious, just fatigue. Will rest five weeks"
In a long interview with Czech newspaper iSport, agent of Patrik Schick, Pavel Paska, clears up the alleged physical problems for the Sampdoria forward.
"There have been many things that happened last few days and it is not easy to explain. Patrik started last year in July with Sparta Prague and was transferred to Sampdoria in the middle of the month. He's played here for a year now and only suffered one minor injury that stopped him for eight days around Christmas time. He finished the season in Italy mid-May and then flew to the U21 European Championship two days later, playing in Belgium and Norway, there was a lot of traveling: 44 matches played in a season.
"This huge workload is linked with tremendous stress and results were shown during medical exams. After a heart fatigue there was an inflammation but all doctors agreed that it was nothing serious. The problem was presented incorrectly. There was nothing like this in the past. It was just a heart fatigue after such a challenging season with many games played. The problem can be solved with five weeks of rest.
"I personally saw Patrik and he is very tired and drained. This is why I told Sampdoria and Juventus that Patrik is taking a five-week vacation recommended by the doctors during his second visit to the Gemelli hospital in Rome. When he returns to Sampdoria, he will undergo a test each year and evaluate if he needs to work with a specialist."
