LAST MINUTE - KARAMOH, INTER TO CLOSE

The day of negotiation between the city of Milan and Caen.

Ok in the morning?

Inter have their hands on Yann Karamoh, the 19 year-old forward of Caen that could really be the next reinforcement of the Inter attack. Negotiations are ongoing, after the meetings that took place yesterday in headquarters between Ausilio and Sabatini, to complete the team for Spalletti. Inter offer has been modified to a two-year loan with obligation to buy and Karamoh should renew his contract with Caen (expires next June) before moving to the Nerazzurri.

Back and forth - Today will be filled with movements back and forth between Milan and Caen to solve the last details for the forward, a true and versatile talent that Inter have been following since last spring. The youngster was praised greatly by Inter scouts and the transfer market men consider him as a good investment for the present and the future. Negotiations have had its ups and downs after a long sequence of contacts between the two clubs. Starting with the first offer of Inter at 5 million euros, rejected by the French club despite the fact that Karamoh’s contract expires in 2018.

So yesterday, Sabatini and Ausilio broke their stance by offering a two-year loan with obligation to buy set at 6 million euros so that this figure does not weigh on the current budget. This offer is still below what Caen are asking which started at 10 million and is now at 8 million to accommodate the will of the forward as he has promised himself to Inter.

Yann insists that he must end up as an Inter player and if the ok arrives from France this morning, he is ready to come to Milan for signature and medical visit. His clear message has been delivered to Caen and especially other clubs interested in him such as Lyon, Saint Etiene and Newcastle United by father and agent Khalid Ouadi.

Full speed ahead - Karamoh is the latest victim of the economic stalemate that Inter transfer market has been facing all throughout the summer thanks to the regulations of Financial Fair Play. So in the afternoon, negative signs arrived from France while Sabatini and Ausilio were the protagonists at Melia Hotel for the conference for sporting directors. So the intermediaries came back on the phone to make sure that Karamoh’s arrival is only postponed until July 2018. Then there was another meeting late night at the Inter headquarters. And now? The closure of this negotiation is close and it is expected this morning by Oscar Damiani, intermediary of negotiation. Caen still have the last word though…

Comparison to Dembele - They call him the Flipper because Oscar Damiani played his best on the wing. In the negotiation for Yann Karamoh, he is working as an intermediary to take him to Inter. He has already done something like this when he directed the 18 year-old Mbaye Niang to Milan for only 2.5 million euros.

“Niang has an incredible talent so does Karamoh. He has done so much at his age of 19 years old. It is no coincidence that he is already playing for the U-21 national team. He has said no to many clubs including Lyon and Saint Etiene so that he can play for Inter because of the club's ambitions and his great admiration and appreciation for Spalletti. In a 4-2-3-1, he can play in all roles behind the lone forward. He is two-footed and very fast. Karamoh is, without a doubt similar, to Dembele. His physicality and techniques are already better than average. Inter did well in convincing him to say yes. Changing shirt at a relatively low cost because he has a contract expires in 2018."

Defense - Negotiations to find a central defender for Inter are also difficult. After a long casting, the final candidates come down to two: Mangala of Manchester City and Mustafi of Arsenal. Inter offered the Gunners 5 million for the loan and 25 in option to buy. It was of course rejected by the English club which now wants 10 million loan (Inter certainly do not like this proposal) and an obligation to buy. The work done in the last few days did not help reducing the distance between offer and demand. Do not rule out that Inter can stay like this until January with Ranocchia and moving D’Ambrosio in the middle. Yesterday, Sampdoria made a request for Vanheusden and also for Eder. Inter have put up walls, so to speak, around the two players. Anyway, Sabatini and Ausilio are heading to the finish line and Karamoh is ready to cross it together with them.
