Inter ready to trim down squad size with Medel and Murillo as next victims
Although it is advantageous to have a quality and huge squad, Inter have to continue to trim it down. In a season with only the league to worry about (Coppa Italia is a real and concrete goal but it will only come at the end of the year and at maximum, Inter will only play five games), it is wiser to have a small group.
The closest to leave are Gary Medel and Jeison Murillo. Besiktas continue to be interested in the Chilean as confirmed by their sporting director yesterday (“Medel is an important player for the national team and we are very interested in him.”). The Turkish club is offering five million for Medel who is also wanted by Erick Thohir’s DC United. However, Medel is leaning towards Besiktas because of the Champions League.
Murillo will also leave the city of Milan as talks with Valencia have been going on for a few days. The difference between offer and demand is only one million and it is not considered an obstacle. The Colombian will return to play in La Liga for 13-14 million euros and the deal will be wrapped today or at most tomorrow.
