Serie A matchday 4: Crotone vs. Inter - Huge risk of complacency
The theme of this week and for all of this season is to not underestimate anyone. Regardless of the position on the standings, Inter must come out, play their game and treat every match as if it is the Champion League final. The players have been training hard throughout the week and doing so at high intensity in order to continue this positive streak so far in the season.
Not again... please Inter?
We all remember that happened at the Stadio Ezio Scida on matchday 31 of last season. A struggling Crotone managed to get a 2-1 victory over Inter and that game was both teams' turning point of the season. Crotone started to pull together a series of results which saved them from relegation on the very last day of the season. Inter started to go down hill from there (lost 19 points against small to mid size club last season), finishing seventh in the standings and missing out on Europe.
In the press conference before the match, Luciano Spalletti made it clear that “we are aware of the risk of complacency. We cannot consider matches to be less important than others. We have 35 more matches to play and they are all important and must be approached int he best possible way.”
In terms of lineup, goalkeeper and the back four are confirmed once again for this match after SPAL. In the midfield, it seems that Luciano Spalletti is leaning towards starting Vecino over Borja Valero alongside Gagliardini. Your wingers remain the same in Perisic and Candreva with Joao Mario supporting Icardi from behind.
Prediction: Crotone 1-3 Inter
