Adriano: "I still follow the Italian league and a supporter of Inter"

When Zlatan calls him “an animal, the greatest player that I have ever played with,” you know how unbelievable Adriano was in his prime. Many Inter supporters still remember him and his magnificent left foot.

Speaking to FC Inter News, Adriano talks about how things are and looks back at his Inter career.

First of all, how are you? What are you doing now?

“I am very good. Thank you. I have my business in Brazil.”

Do you still follow the Italian league? Still rooting for Inter?

“Yes, of course. Until today, I still here this chant in my head: ‘“Che confusione, sarà perché tifiamo, è un giocatore che tira bombe a mano, alzati in piedi per questo brasiliano, batti le mani, in campo c’è Adriano”!’ (‘What noise, must be our supporters, he is a player who shoots hand grenades, stand up for this Brazilian, clap your hands, Adriano is on the field!’) I’m filled with emotion.”

What do you remember the most at Inter?

“There were many good memories. The fans, the teammates, I do not know what to say, there are so many.”

You are still the player with the most Champions League goals in Inter history. Do you regret leaving Inter just before the treble season?

“I have a beautiful history at Inter and I am very proud of it.”

Many believe that you should have won the Golden Ball. Ibrahimovic said you are the strongest player that he has ever played with.

“I just want to say that Ibra is a great player. It was wonderful to play with him. I take this opportunity to thank him for the nice words that he has on me and I will always pray for him and I also want to say thanks to all who followed me. God is with you.”
