Is Spalletti planning tactical changes with Joao Cancelo in lineup?
Luciano Spalletti is already planning ahead as he is ready to integrate Joao Cancelo back in the group once the Portuguese is fully 100%.
The first idea is to play Cancelo as right winger in a 4-2-3-1 formation with Candreva as trequartista behind Icardi. On paper, this could provide the team more physicality and increase the level of play. Thanks also to the wall of Gagliardini and Vecino in front of the defense with Borja Valero’s insertion in less complicated matches.
The second hypothesis is to play Cancelo as right midfielder in a 3-4-2-1. Handanovic stays in goal with D’Ambrosio, Miranda and Skriniar protecting the Slovenian goalkeeper. Dalbert plays in left midfielder role with Gagliardini and Borja in the middle. Perisic and Eder (or Candreva) to support Icardi from behind.
