Inter expressed interest in Rafinha about 45 days ago. Today or tomorrow, final decision from Barcelona will come
Inter are starting to sort through the long list of potential candidates to strengthen its squad. Yesterday, a step was made towards Rafinha of Barcelona, brother of Thiago Alcantara of Bayern Munich and the son of Mazinho (World Cup champion in USA 1994 with Brazil and former Lecce and Fiorentina player). In Barcelona, there was a meeting between the parties to understand the club’s willingness to let the player go on loan.
The Brazilian, with a Spanish passport, has not played since April 2nd when he injured himself after a few minutes in Granada. From then on, he has never seen the field again and has only been back training for about 45 days or so. Inter showed its first interest in a meeting in Milan last week, in which there were both Piero Ausilio and Suning technical director Walter Sabatini. The latter is currently in China to meet Suning boss Zhang Jindong and so it is Ausilio that has been in constant contact with Barcelona.
Inter are willing to take Rafinha on free loan with right to buy. On him, according to the Spanish press, there is also Celta Vigo but Rafinha has already told them no because he has already said yes to Inter without hesitation. Between today and tomorrow, the final answer from Barca is expected: with that in Inter’s pocket, this operation could close in a flash.
