"Lautaro reminds me of Tevez or Aguero. Playing with Icardi? Not possible yet..."
“Icardi and Lautaro play together on the pitch? As of today, I would say no but with time, we will have a clearer picture on the future. But again, precisely at this time of the season, I do not think that this is an easy solution.”
Pierluigi Casiraghi is skeptical about the coexistence of the two Argentinian forwards.
“They are two first forwards that love attacking the box, being close to the opposing goal and looking to score. And this inevitably would lead, even if it is unintentional, to one stomping on each other’s feet. This is why I do not think they are ready yet but then again, with training, everything can be improved. It will be up to Spalletti to find an ideal solution to ensure the team balance.”
So you are saying that there is no room for both players in the 4-2-3-1 although there were positive tests in the summer.
“With this formation, Icardi is the key man as he has demonstrated it for years. Mauro probably plays better without having to share space and chances with someone else. Lautaro is young and must still improve and having a teammate/teacher like Icardi, he will get a lot of benefits. To me, Lautaro reminds me of Tevez or Aguero. He is an atypical first forward with low center of gravity and great strength in his legs. He protects the ball and has instincts of a great forward. Playing in Serie A will help him as well. The future is in his hand.”
