Skriniar: "National team? I am focused on the derby this weekend, we must extend winning streak"
“What happens in the national team will remain in the national team.”
Milan Skriniar speaks to ESPN about the situation that has led to the resignation of coach Jan Kozak.
“Slovakia is one thing, Inter are another. The international break is now over and I am focused only on the derby, hard work only in the view of the match against Milan. We have to win to extend the six-game winning streak. We want to finish as high as possible in the standings. I do not care where Milan will be, I think only about us, we can improve again.
“Higuain? It will be important to not allow him but also other attacking players to score. He is a great forward, one of the best in Italy but we must keep a cleansheet, trying to score one or two and then win the game. I remember my first derby, it was a fun one because we won 3-2 in the end. It was great for us and the fans. In the second derby, we drew 0-0 and I hope to win the third. We believe that we are better than a year ago but we have to show it on the pitch.”
