GdS - Steven Zhang is ambitious, wants to make Inter protagonist in Europe, not just a participant
Steven Zhang does not hide the ambitions of Suning and today’s edition of the Gazzetta dello Sport, the pink newspaper highlights the words of the new Inter president who has already planned out the programs and objectives of this organization.
“We are not stopping at Lazio-Inter of last season, that kind of victories that we want to repeat. And Inter are going to win even more important games in the future.”
There is a strong sense of awareness that the new president’s words on Friday have raised the bar of expectations. Or perhaps that it is fairer to say that these ambitious statements have put plans for Inter top of the list.
Today, Zhang will be at the Olimpico, in the stadium that changed his story and perception of the club. The tears at the end of the game last season signify how attached he is to this club. Without that victory, it is not said that Steven would be Inter president today.
Thanks to that evening, the Zhang family got to taste the Champions League which has proven to be so important economically. Suning, however, does not want Inter just to be a team that participates in this tournament, or rather, they want this club to be a protagonist. One that is not afraid, even at the Camp Nou against Barcelona, the club that four days later dominated its historical rival Real Madrid 5-1.
