Yann Karamoh’s initial thought was to stay at Inter… at any cost. That’s why the young French forward rejected any proposal coming for him from Italy and abroad. However, eventually, he realized that the best step for his career was to go elsewhere and play and he did. In the final days of summer transfer market, Karamoh completed his move back to Ligue 1 in the shirt of Bordeaux.

Speaking to FC Inter 1908, his agent, Oscar Damiani, discusses the situation on how he actually convinced Karamoh to accept Bordeaux.

“The truth is that at the beginning, he did not want to leave. He would have stayed and in my opinion, he would have found playing time as much as others because he is just as good. But Inter had to make choices and after a conversation between all, he understood that perhaps it would have been the right decision, a wiser one, to leave and play.”

Did you feel like that was a step back?

“No. Bordeaux are an important and they also play in Cup competition. He is playing for a very good coach and the French league has improved and become a high level league. There is nothing to envy Serie A. I am convinced that he will become one of the best in his position as he continues to mature and grow. Inter paid five million for how and now he is worth four times as much.”

Did Ausilio text you after the goal?

“No, I wrote him and said: ‘Go look at Karamoh’s goal.’ He replied with a smiling face and told me that he had already seen it. With Piero, we have a wonderful relationship.”

The goal is to return to Inter?

“Yes. He refused everyone for Inter and the desire to return remains. And I must also say that Inter believe in him, given the fact that they only sent him away on a dry loan without giving Bordeaux the option to buy. Returning to Inter is now even a bigger goal.”
