Inter CEO Alessandro Antonello: "Marotta? We always welcome those who can help us"
At the “Sport and Business Forum of Sole 24 Ore,” Alessandro Antonello, CEO of Inter, talks about the San Siro, the gap with Juventus and his soon-to-be collaborator Giuseppe Marotta.
Stadium - “Two clubs are omitted to working together to give the city of Milan a stadium that is at the level of the biggest European cities. The work is at the beginning and the important thing is that the relationship between the two clubs is positive. We also met with the city and there are conditions for everything to proceed quickly. This project is essential for both the clubs and the city.”
Gap with Juve - “The growth of this club has been part of the strategic project since Suning acquired the club. Appointing Steven Zhang as president confirms what Suning has wanted to show from the beginning. There is the gap with Juventus but the results are coming and today we are playing in the Champions League. The investments that we want to make, such as the stadium, our facility, are important. There are all the conditions for the strategic project to go ahead to reduce the gap not only with Juventus but also from clubs like Napoli which are doing well. There is still a lot of work to be done.”
Marotta - “As we have always said, anyone who can contribute to our project with experience to achieve the goals that we have set is welcome. Giuseppe Marotta is a great director. Right now, we must wait until there is a signature and I cannot say that things are done.”
