Dalic: "I replaced Vrsaljko for the good of the player and Inter"
Two days after losing to England in Nations League, Zlatko Dalic comments on the injury of Sime Vrsaljko.
“After hard fought 90 minutes against Spain and only two days of recovery before the game against England, we were aware that our players would not be perfectly fit. After a tackle, Vrsaljko felt pain in his muscles and our assessment was to prevent the situation (from becoming worse) by removing him from the pitch. There is no doubt that, as shown during the World Cup and when he wore the Inter shirt, he can play in difficult games at high level. If our trip to Wembley was a World Cup final, we would not replace him. But we did not take the risk because we wanted to be honest with him and his club.”
