Ausilio: "I respect Marotta as a man and as an executive. No big signings in January"
Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio speaks at the Gran Gala del Calcio AIC 2018 event, answering a variety of questions regarding the current season, the appointment of Giuseppe Marotta, transfer market and more.
What kind of value does the game against Juventus hold?
“Very important. A great game is needed on our part. The team is demonstrating through numbers what value is and we are continuing to work to get to our goals, trying to get to the next stage of the Champions League and going better compared to the past year.”
The fans already dream about the Marotta-Ausilio duo.
“I am extremely happy to work for this club. If there is also the possibility of working with Beppe Marotta, whom I have known for years, then I will do so with great satisfaction. I respect him as a man and as an executive.”
Is Modric at Inter in January possible?
“I think that in January Inter will be like this, regardless of names. There will not be big signings, we are already organizing and planning for the team to be stronger in view of next season.”
Did the outburst of Lautaro’s father surprise you?
“Spalletti already said everything. The player’s father probably did that with passion and love. What matters is Lautaro, a mature kid who is showing every day that he is attached to this club. There was never a case here.”
Overall thought on the season so far?
“We are still in line with our plans. Perhaps for some of you, it is a surprise to know that Inter can have the chance to qualify for the Champions League last 16.”
