Icardi: "Going for the win against Juve. I like doing chores at home. Wanda? She's a 10"
“Derby goal? It was important, one of the most important goals that I have ever scored. It was spectacular, scoring in a derby at the final minute it was great. We played very well and should have scored earlier but the important thing was the victory. Juventus? I would not sign up for a draw. Every player must think about winning it and we will go there without fear and play our game.”
After three awards collected yesterday at the Gran Gala del Calcio AIC event (goal of the year, player of the year, team of the year), Mauro Icardi today received another: best performance of the year at the Gazzetta Sports Awards.
“It was an unforgettable 2018. We all expected to return to the Champions League and we succeeded. I was top goalscorer and scoring my first goal in the Champions League was unforgettable as well. We worked hard to reach this goal.”
Icardi then talks about his personal life and the relationship with Wanda Nara.
“I never stay still at home. I do not like having nothing to do so I enjoy doing a lot of chores, fixing things that do not work. Wanda? She deserves a 10 because she takes away all my thoughts. She is good at talking to you journalists and handles herself very well on TV. She is very good on social media and helps me managing my profiles as well.
“No offense but I do not look at the newspapers, internet or TV… Nothing. I do not care about these things.” Argentina? I waited for along time to score for my country. I closed this 2018 the best way possible and that goal with Argentina was perfect. I closed a circle because they said that I could not score for the national team.”
