CdS - Inter management and Spalletti have different ideas and priorities on the transfer market
Inter sporting directors wanted a trequartista (attacking midfielder) while Spalletti wanted a regista (director). The Corriere dello Sport highlights the difference between Inter directors and their coach.
“Inter and his coach, in the last few days, discovered that they had different ideas and priorities on the transfer market, a winter campaign that only saw Lisandro Lopez and Rafinha and only disposals of wages needed for the budget. Ausilio, especially Sabatini, wanted Pastore while the coach asked for Mkhitaryan. Also, to Spalletti, Lobotka would be a better choice than Pastore and he also liked Fabian Ruiz and Torreira.”
It is useless to look back to that disappointing winter window now, Spalletti will have to get to the Champions League with the available players at hand.
