Andre Villas Boas: "Inter players playing scared, worried and struggling to express themselves. It's like a virus"
Speaking at “Laureus World Sport Award,” Andre Villas Boas discusses his past as Mourinho’s assistance and he was close to return to Inter at one point.
“In fall of 2016, I was close to a couple of Italian clubs and I had meetings with their directors. Inter? There was no agreement. I do not know what is going on with them at the moment. They started very well but it is like a virus that has been hitting the team and now they have lost confidence. I saw the game against Benevento and I noticed that players were worried, scared, struggling to express themselves as it has been happening since December. A victory against Milan to relaunch their season? I hope so because I remain attached at Inter thanks to my experience there. I have not been in Milan for two years but I still have friends and restaurants there.”
On Joao Mario and Cancelo. “It surprised me too because Joao Mario is a player that I have always liked but there are times in your career that things just do not go the way that you want. Cancelo? He has the advantage of playing in a less complicated position and the experience at Valencia helped. He is a very good fullback.”
