Inter and the plan to keep Cancelo: double wage and renegotiate with Valencia
According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter are considering making a super bid for acquire Joao Cancelo: doubling his wage and to remove any temptation to go to England.
“Inter have until May 31st to exercise the right to buy for 35 million, this figure was reached last summer in the exchange with Kondogbia. The French is also on loan and the Spaniards can redeem him for 25 with a clause of giving Inter 25% of any future resale. Kondogbia has already said several times that he prefers to stay in La Liga and the Portuguese national has been more cautious up to now. Moreover, his agent Jorge Mendes has received huge interest but he does not underestimate the option of resigning with Inter.”
Piero Ausilio is working quickly to close the issue: Inter offer is to increase Cancelo’s wage from 1.2 million to three, including bonuses. At the same time, they will try to reformulate the agreement with Valencia. “Inter strategy aims to propose a new loan with Valencia: perhaps a two-year contract with an obligation to buy.”
The first step remains to convince Cancelo to stay in Italy and there is optimism in this sense.
