Figo: "Icardi? Great teams keep their best players. Mancini? Bad experience with him"

Figo: "Icardi? Great teams keep their best players. Mancini? Bad experience with him"

Speaking to Sky Sport, former Inter player Luis Figo talks about the big game between Inter and Lazio this weekend.

“Inter started the season very well and had a difficult period from December to January which took it out of the Scudetto contention. I hope that they can go to the Champions League because it is important for the club and for the financial aspect.

“Inter have not won for a long time. The transition in ownership after Moratti was very negative. Inter were basically deserted after that. And now I hope the club will recover. Icardi? I think that great teams have to have the best players because with them, there is more chance of achieving goals. But it takes balance between sporting and financial aspect and I do not know what will happen.”

Figo also commented briefly on Mancini becoming the Italian coach.

“He is a person that I do not identify myself with at all. But I hope he will bring Italy to the top level again. I had a negative experience with him, my memory is not positive. Italy deserves to go back on important world stages.”
