Inter support has been massive, it deserves more involvement from Suning
55 thousand tickets have already been sold and it is expected that the attendance for Inter-Sassuolo on Sunday is going to break the 70-thousand mark. It is the last home game of the season and Inter still have the Champions League next year to play for. Inter supporters have recorded impressive numbers this year despite not having a phenomenal team full of champions as always in the club’s history.
The Gazzetta dello Sport underlines exactly this factor: “At Inter, there were the brightest and biggest Italian and international stars: Luisito Suarez, Picchi, Mazzola, Facchetti and Corso at the Grande Inter era of Angelo Moratti. More recently, we had Altobelli, Beccalossi, Rummenigge, Matthaus, Bergkamp, Roberto Carlos, Zanetti, Ronaldo, Baggio, Vieri, Ibrahimovic, Eto’o, Milito and Sneijder. This is why the attendance number for Inter is so impressive for having a period of relative austerity.
“Suning must reflect on this: this passion deserves greater involvement on the part of ownership from an emotional, sentimental point of view. The ‘San Siro factor’ has even bewitched Rafinha who experienced Inter-Juventus atmosphere and said that ‘it was something incredible. I do not want to leave Inter, I do not want to leave these fans…’ We are talking about the player who grew up in Barcelona together with Messi here… In short, Inter fans are the best ‘promoter’ of the image of this club, one that must recover its appeal quickly after six years of absence from the Champions League.”
