Two reasons why Inter are in discussion with Santon to extend contract
Maybe this is a little surprise for how he played last season but Davide Santon and Inter could extend their relationship. The parties have begun to talk, drawing up a plan to approach a new contract (current one expires in 2019). The idea is to go all the way to 2021. But why? What is the reason for Inter to do so? Well, there are two.
The first, the most probable one, is that Santon is versatile. The fullback can be useful on both left and right and can be included in the list of players who grew up in the youth sector just like UEFA requires. The second reason is like a step backwards. An extension is often used to raise the price of a player whose contract expires in 12 months and that with only 6 months left, that player can sign for everyone for free.
One thing is certain that if there is no extension, Davide will leave Inter because he does not intend to start a season without future guarantees. About him, many clubs have asked for his information including the newly promoted Parma. A renewal here would be a strong signal from Inter to those who have massacred Davide on social media in recent months. A roar to those keyboard lions.
