De Vrij on Lazio-Inter controversy: "I told them about my decision to go to Inter 2-3 weeks before final game"
Here are some of the highlights from Stefan De Vrij’s press conference earlier today at Suning Training Center.
“Ronaldo joining Juventus is a good thing for Italian football but I am happy and focused on Inter. We have just started. Everyone is fired up and cannot wait for the upcoming season. Ambitions are not lacking and we just want to keep going. I came here because Inter immediately gave me confidence, nobody wanted me so strongly and I also believe in the project and the ambitions of this club. I am very happy and convinced that I have made the right choice. Number 6? I like it!”
De Vrij also discusses the controversy surrounding his departure and especially on the last game of the season between Inter and Lazio.
“I am sorry for how the final game went but everyone knows me had no doubt about my personality and how serious I am. I said farewell to them (teammates etc…) and they wished me good luck. I told Lazio about my decision to come to Inter about 2-3 weeks before the last game. Anyway, that game is in the past now and you cannot go back to it.”
