Nainggolan: "I am very happy here. Very nice to play in front of full stadium"
In a long interview with Sky, Radja Nainggolan discusses his present, expectations for the future and much more.
“I am giving everything that I have but I still definitively have to improve but I am not worried. I was welcome with open arms here and I found myself immediately at ease with this new environment. I am happy to be here and I hope to have a lot of satisfaction. The goal of this year is to do better than last season. We started off badly but these two victories have put us back on track and we hope to continue like this. The journey ahead of us is very long but we just won two important matches and have to continue moving forward like this.
“I want to win here. I have always given my all on the pitch but I have never lifted a trophy. Maybe the right time is here but let’s keep it low profile because I am used to talking about things that do not come so it is better for me to say nothing. We read so much about the expectations that the media has for us (anti-Juve etc…) but we just want to keep moving forward. Winning in Genoa is always difficult, same goes with the victory that we won yesterday. We certainly can win difficult matches because we are a strong team. The bow in Bologna? It just happened at the right time, it was meant to welcome me to the team after missing the first two games. I am always happy when I score but the most important thing is the team’s victory.”
Roma were in a difficult group in the Champions League last year but then went on to semi-finals. Do you have the same feelings this time around with Inter?
“We have to play every game, we won against Tottenham but there are five other difficult games ahead of us. We have to give more and more and once you are qualified for next round, you never know how it will end.”
How are things with Spalletti?
“We got along very well in Rome and together, we received important results. I hope to do the same here to because Inter really wanted me. I do not want to talk about Roma anymore however, I am happy and focused here.”
Did you two really sleep together in Trigoria?
“Yes, I had to sleep there three nights and he was there for one.”
What do you promise the fans?
“There is going to be a lot of enthusiasm. It is really nice to play in front of a full stadium, we will do our best to win every game and we hope to get positive results.”
