Daniel Osvaldo: "I became a musician because I was sick and tired of playing football"
Former Inter forward Pablo Daniel Osvaldo has not been on a football pitch for more than two years as he is pursuing a career in music. Speaking to the Gazzetta dello Sport, the Argentinian talks about his current lifestyle.
“People do not understand, they think that I am crazy. I just followed my passion and it is a very differnet life compared to almost military lifestyle that is football. A professional footballer is well paid but he is constantly guarded by the club and under pressure. You cannot drink, you cannot smoke, you have to follow a precise diet.
“I am not made to follow these rules. I like being free and I am proud of my career and I owe everything to football but in it, I had to leave a life that is not real. It is crazy. If you are good then you are worth 50 million and if you are not good then you are worthless. If you score a goal then you are a God and if you don’t, you are a waste. They ask you to always give your best but do not care about who you are as a person or if you have any feelings whatsoever.
“I am a sensitive person. I was tired. I was going crazy and so I decided to live the life of a musician. Since I left football, I do not feel the weight of it anymore. I feel free and relaxed. I am happy.”
