Lautaro: "Starting or coming off the bench, I have always had one goal in mind: helping teammates to win for Inter"
Interview by Inter TV, Argentinian striker Lautaro Martinez analyzes the ongoing first season in the Inter shirt.
“From the first day at Inter, I immediately felt the great affection from the fans who have always treated me very well. This is very important for a player. I am happy but I know that I have to keep working because it is the only thing that I can do to improve.
“I have been taking on my responsibilities ever since I arrived. Sometimes I stayed on the bench, sometimes I started, and in other occasions I came on the pitch during the matches. I have always treated these situations the same: to help my teammates and to help Inter win. And when that happens, when Inter win, then work becomes more calm during the week.
“Now we have a very important game against Rapid in Europa League, a competition in which we want to do our very best, starting tomorrow at San Siro in front of our fans. We want to continue the journey. Our goal? We got eliminated from the Champions League and Coppa Italia and so we have to do our best in Europa League which is an important objective. We know that Juventus are far ahead in the league but we want to play every game to win it and to shorten the gap, doing so would allow us to maintain our position in the table.”
