Skriniar: "I have great relationship with the fans. De Vrij? Great player and professional"
In an interview with Sky Sport, Milan Skriniar speaks about the relationship with the fans and reveals that his idol was Ronaldo, Il Fenomeno.
“I have an excellent relationship with the fans. Perhaps at the beginning, it wasn’t like that because when Inter signed me, I was an unknown player or perhaps it was because of my first name. Then slowly, our relationship changed. In the last game in the Europa League, the applause at my substitution left me so many emotions. I want to thank the fans for this because it means a lot for a player to receive such applause, especially in a stadium like the San Siro.
“My idol? It was Ronaldo Il Fenomeno. I remember him very well. Even myself, like all children, wanted to score or make an assist, to play in the attack so maybe that’s why I liked Ronaldo. The best in my position? Among the best defenders in the world, in my opinion, there is Sergio Ramos, for his personality. Then in Italy, we talk about Koulibaly. I also like Van Dijk because when you look at how he plays, you immediately understand that he is in command of the defense. These three are the best in my opinion.”
What about De Vrij?
“I have a great relationship with him. We share the same room at Appiano Gentile so we talk about a lot of things, mostly off the pitch stuff. But above all, we have great relationship on the pitch where, to me, we are doing very well together. We help each other and this is important for the defensive line. In my opinion, he is a very good player, a professional. We can tell each other not only the positive things that one does but also the negative, when things go wrong: ‘Doing this could be better, I could have done so much better.’”
