Corsera - Icardi will leave Inter this summer. European clubs didn't want to pay €110M before, they certainly don't want to pay it now. The idea of Marotta...
Mauro Icardi and Inter, a marriage that is destined to end next June. According to the Corriere della Sera, there is no possibility that the striker and the Nerazzurri will find a way to continue together and because of it, they are looking for the best way possible to monetize his sale.
No one has gotten close to the €110M release clause, a sign that no European club is willing to pay that amount for the striker, even before the event that happened two-three weeks ago when he was stripped of the captaincy. An exchange with Juventus for Dybala remains a possibility, one would allow Inter to make massive capital gains. There are not many clubs that Inter and Icardi would accept to go to: Real Madrid, Chelsea (banned from signing players), Juventus and maybe Napoli. A straight sale is unlikely, easier to include the striker in a negotiation.
Marotta is convinced by this idea. The Inter CEO will soon offer Icardi and his team a new contract worth €7M per season. A refusal (very likely) would put this situation in an even more uncomfortable position.
