Franck Ribery: "Inter wanted me in 2010"
After 12 years of loyalty to Bayern Munich, Franck Ribery will leave the German club this summer. Interviewed by Bild, the French winger speaks of various topics including a possible transfer to Inter in 2010.
“Bayern didn’t want to let me go. Do you know what Uli Hoeness told me? Barcelona have Messi, Real Madrid have Ronaldo and we have you. It was crazy because at the time, there were seven clubs that wanted me: Juventus, Inter, Milan, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester United.
There were many thoughts in my mind and it was not an easy time. Real wanted to pay €65M-€70M for my transfer and I didn’t really know whether to stay or go. In hindsight, staying here was one of the best decisions of my life.”
