Mourinho: "My next club must have clear ideas and know its objectives"
“My philosophy? It depends. At Manchester United, they didn’t know my philosophy.”
As a pundit on beIN Sports, Jose Mourinho speaks about his past and also about his next job.
“I will not start a conversation with a club without knowing exactly what that club wants and also what the club must do in terms of structures and objectives. I want to know exactly that the club wants and what it can do to achieve these goals.
“When people remember the incredible match that Inter played in Barcelona in the Champions League semifinals with 10 men, people say that that was the defensive masterclass. People don’t remember that two weeks before that Inter won 3-1 against Barcelona. So we put ourselves in the position to go to Barcelona and defend that result with 10 men against the best team in the world because again two weeks before we beat them 3-1 and it should have been 4 or 5.
“We won the league with Chelsea despite not being the best team in the country. It was possible because of strategy and not philosophy. Later on when Chelsea won it again with Conte, it was clearly a counterattacking team. Great defensively, amazing in the counter. However, since that was Conte and not me, you didn’t mention it.”
