Empoli coach Andreazzoli: "I'm afraid that referee may condition the game because we are not Inter"
Aurelio Andreazzoli, Empoli coach, discusses the game tomorrow night against Inter and his close friend Luciano Spalletti.
“Tomorrow, a great challenge awaits us. We will be able to play for an important objective and this is always welcome. Spalletti? I hope that both of us will be happy at the end. Am I in Empoli thanks to him (Spalletti recommended Andreazzoli to be on the bench last season)? I do owe a lot to Luciano and I am in top flight football because of him. We have a great relationship and did work well together.”
Andreazzoli then goes on to express concern over the possibility that the referee could condition this match.
“Our fans will give us the incentive to do better, they will be helping us once again. Will the referee condition this match? I do fear it and I am not going to hide. Empoli are not Inter. During the week, I read an interview with Sacchi, one that I consider the father of all Italian coaches, in which he said that everyone takes of their hat in front of the bank manager but not in front of the doorman. And so I am afraid that the atmosphere could affect the referee and I demand to be treated the same way as Inter tomorrow.”
