Mauro Icardi and Ivan Perisic, together one last time for the good of Inter

Mauro Icardi and Ivan Perisic, together one last time for the good of Inter

One last time playing together, trying to deliver the fans and the club fourth place and then saying farewell. Also for Mauro Icardi and Ivan Perisic, tomorrow night against Empoli could be the game of farewell to the fans.

There is no time to change the negative vibe of this group but there is still time to bring Inter to the Champions League to end this never-ending season. It has been a long year full of stories of these two. First, Perisic asked for a transfer to Arsenal and Icardi hoped for a new contract but found himself without the captain’s armband. Then Perisic all of a sudden returned to be the center of Inter project early in 2019 and the Argentinian was doing massages on the couch.

Who knows what Inter would have been with these two individuals at their usual level, without the known events. Spalletti has lost 21 goals this season in total goals scored between Mauro and Ivan compared to the last: overall, Inter have 11 goals less compared to 12 months ago.

In short, a troubled season for the Argentinian and Croatian which will definitely come to an end tomorrow. And then we will go to the summer transfer window waiting for serious offers. In the cause of Icardi, there is Juventus while Inter are waiting for Premier League to come for Perisic (perhaps United).

Certainly, there is no one in Appiano Gentile wants to see another season like this. Icardi knows it too who two days ago put up his stats on Instagram and continues to shout that he wants to stay. That same Mauro, however, was nowhere to be found modeling the new Inter home shirt. He has also disappeared on the Suning website, in the section dedicated to Inter, and is replaced by D’Ambrosio.
