With Conte on the bench, Inter will invest big chunk of money in the attack (strikers and right winger). Midfield? Three options...
Had Luciano Spalletti remained, the big signing for Inter next season would have been a top player to play alongside Brozovic. Instead, with the arrival of Antonio Conte, the strategies are different: the big chunk of investment will be made for the attack and on the right wing (Lukaku, Dzeko and Chiesa).
That being said, Tuttosport believes that Inter are still very active in finding a starting midfielder and three names on the top of their list are Nicolo Barella, Lorenzo Pellegrini and Thomas Partey.
The first is liked for his versatility and growth shown this season with the promotion to the national team of Mancini. Inter have been talking with Cagliari president Giulini for some time but there is still difference over the player’s assessment: Cagliari are asking more than €40M while Inter of course believe he is worth less.
Pellegri, however, is a more simple and less expensive target only because the player has a termination clause of €30M in his Roma contract, payable in two annual installments. Thomas Partey is turning 26 years old this June and compared to the other two candidates, he is the one with the most experience playing at high levels and in the Champions League. The Ghanaian midfielder is looking around for stability although having a contract until 2023 and release clause of €50M will complicate negotiation… unless Simeone asks for Icardi.
