Argentina is down at Lautaro's feet. Media: "A tank, a bull, extremely competitive: keep playing him Scaloni, he's earned his chance"
The spotlight is once again on Lautaro Martinez, the Inter striker who is playing at Copa America as a protagonist. After scoring a sensational back-heel goal yesterday against Venezuela to bring Argentina to semifinals against Brazil, the entire country is now at his feet with fans putting more and more pressure on Scaloni to always start him from the first minute.
Argentinian newspapers not only select him as best performer versus Venezuela but they also consider Lautaro a key factor for the hope of winning it all. Olè gives him an 8 rating and says that “he honored his nickname and played like a real Toro (bull). First half was brilliant with a back-heel golazo for the 1-0. But once again, curiously, he was the first to be replaced by Scaloni when he was not yet ready to leave the game. There is no doubt that he has earned the chance to play.”
And then there’s TyC Sports which calls him “a tank, man of the match. Competitive to the extreme. His substitution was surprising and let’s hope that he doesn’t regret the yellow card that he received.”
