Two issues to solve this week: closing negotiations for Barella and meeting Wanda and Icardi
According to the Corriere della Sera, Inter have two very important tasks to finalize this upcoming week.
First off, on the agenda of Giuseppe Marotta is a meeting with Cagliari president on Monday. The knot to untie is linked to the technical counterparts to be included in the deal for Barella whose value remains €50m. Inter do not want to lose control of Bastoni and Esposito, the two young players that the Sardinians like. The feeling is that this negotiation will be closed this week.
Secondly, Marotta and Ausilio will face the biggest issue of the summer: Mauro Icardi and his future. They will organize a meeting with Wanda to explain that her husband is not part of Conte’s plans. The family has no intention of leaving or moving to a second-tier club. On his part, he would like to show up to training camp on July 8th to convince the new coach to give him a chance. But Conte, after speaking to the senior players who reported to him the behavior of Icardi, seems inflexible.
