Nicolo Barella: "Dream come true! Very happy to be at one of the most important clubs in the world." Figures: €12M loan, €25M obligation to buy plus bonuses
Nicolo Barella is a new Inter player. Last night (local time), he landed in Milan and will have medical exams early Friday morning. Then next Tuesday, he will leave for Asia together with the rest of his teammates.
The decisive acceleration came last night in the office of Cagliari, president Tommaso Giulini and Inter CEO Giuseppe Marotta were able to close the deal. The player is obviously very enthusiastic about this move, calling it “a dream come true” and has “immense happiness to be at one of the most important clubs in the world.” That is Inter, the club that he always wanted.
According to the Corriere dello Sport, the agreement is as followed: loan for €12M, obligation to buy is fixed at €25M which is payable in two installments plus bonuses. The last part needed a different conversation between both sides and in the end, bonuses will be linked to appearances and more.
Now, not all of them have to be achieved in a year because in many cases it will take at least two seasons. Then there are another €4M linked to team results and are more difficult to achieve: league title or even the Champions League. Given the formula, this signing will not put too much weight on the club’s 2019-2020 budget.
