Inter's offer for Lukaku: €60M plus bonuses (€70M in total) in three installments. United will likely reject but this is only Suning's first offer
Officially, he is still out of shape and because of that he is having a different training regime. But imagines coming from Australia leave a lot of room for interpretations. Romelu Lukaku stayed out of Manchester United’s first friendly of the season, sitting on the bench and concentrating on his mobile phone. Who knows, maybe he was going through transfer market news. Solskjaer, United coach, tried to calm and manage the environment: “He’s fine. Together with other players, they have small annoyances. I think we’ll see them in action on Wednesday.”
The next few days are going to be very “hot.” On Saturday in Singapore, Inter and Manchester United will meet in the International Champions Cup and who knows, you could see a shirt change then for Lukaku. Difficult because the distance between parties remains wide but it’s not impossible. Inter are ready to attack but they have to be careful even if there is no more UEFA Settlement Agreement.
Marotta joked yesterday that “I am always optimistic about everything.” The first offer from Inter will be €60M: €20M to cover the amortization amount for the entire season, €20M next summer and another €20M in 2021. Plus bonuses of course for the total of between €65M-€70M. It’s likely that Manchester United will reject these conditions but it will only be the first offer of Marotta and Ausilio who will stay in Italy during Asian tour.
