In order to please Conte, Suning is ready to risk it all: acquiring Lukaku without selling Icardi
Inter and Manchester United will face each other on the pitch this Saturday in Singapore. But at the moment, a meeting off of it isn’t planned. In the sense that both sides have not fixed another appointment to talk about Lukaku. Marotta and Ausilio will not fly to Asia with the team, but, unless there are lsat minute changes, they will only reach them next week in Nanjing for the game against Juventus on the 24th.
Inter have known this for some time, thanks to the meeting last week between Ausilio and United: the demand for Lukaku is €85M and they will not give any discount. Loan, only with obligation to buy, could be a solution only if it’s for €17M, enough to cover Lukaku’s amortization fee for this year.
Since last week, there have been no news, in the sense that United have not given any type of signal. Lukaku did however but not only because he missed a training session and then the friendly against Perth Glory. He also said that there would be news soon about the future. In the meantime, he has returned training with the team and if there’s no more complication, he expects to participate in the game against Leeds on Wednesday.
Regarding Suning, they could soon make this decision: buy Lukaku, without selling Icardi. It would be a massive investment without coverages. Well, the idea is that Inter would worry about recouping the money back later between the end of this summer, winter window and June 2020. In short, it would be a risky move but that’s what Juventus did last year and also this window with Ronaldo and De Ligt.
Inter never thought about this scenario before but if the will to satisfy Conte prevails, a change in club’s policy should not be excluded. Conte needs Lukaku, he considers him a fundamental element in what he wants his Inter to become. Without Lukaku, it would be impossible to achieve what he has in mind.
