Marotta: "We are ready to negotiate with any team for Icardi. Barella? We want to close"
In a lengthy interview with Sky, Giuseppe Marotta discusses Inter transfer market.
“I only learned about Wanda-Paratici (Juve director) from the newspapers, I have no concrete evidence to determine whether they saw each other (in Ibiza) or not. We wouldn’t need to hide it… If any team wants to acquire Icardi’s sporting rights, then we are available to start negotiation by respecting the professionalism and value of the player.”
Dzeko and Lukaku?
“They are very interesting players, different in age and similar in attributes. They are our transfer targets, I will not deny that.”
Barella to Inter?
“We want to finalize this operation. It’s right for Cagliari to ask for the amount that they want, we have the desire to bring him here because he shares our values. Moreover, he’s Italian and an Italian team must have a strong core of homegrown players to achieve important results.”
A team of youngsters and Italians, is this the foundation of new Inter?
“Yes, because Italians understand Serie A and have strong sense of belonging to pass on to foreigners. Italian football has great coaches and above all great players.”
