Selling Agoume to Inter for €4.5M basically saved Sochaux from relegation due to financial troubles
Sochaux will not be relegated from Ligue 2 due to financial reasons. The DNCG committee, which controls the accounts of French clubs, gave a favorable decision on the club’s stay in French second division with the statement:
“Following its meeting on Thursday, July 4, 2019, the Appeals Committee of the National Directorate of Management Control (DNCG) decided to overturn the decision of the Professional Clubs Control Committee of the LFP regarding the appeal lodged by the club of FC Sochaux-Montbéliard, initially administratively demoted to National 1.”
This bailout is largely due to the sale of Lucien Agoume to Inter. Thanks to €4.5M, which could go up to €7M after bonuses, Sochaux were able to balance their account and regain the position in Ligue 2.
