Many teams are lining up for Joao Mario whose departure could allow Inter to sign Edin Dzeko and Arturo Vidal
Next week will be very decisive for the future of Joao Mario. The Portuguese midfielder, who stayed in Milan while his teammates played against Valencia, is just one step away from saying goodbye as Inter are ready to sell him with an option to buy.
On the former Sporting Lisbon player, AS Monaco have been pushing for some time although the priority right now seems to be signing a striker and a center back. But Jardim does have Joao Mario on his desired transfer and welcome reinforcement list. The first contact between both sides dated back to mid-April but Inter cannot wait or make further delays: if the Ligue 1 side doesn’t come forward and make any concrete and decisive progress in the coming days, Inter will look for other options such as those in Spain and Germany.
From La Liga, Villarreal and Celta Vigo have asked information on Joao Mario while from Germany, Bayern Leverkusen and Leipzig have also moved. All these clubs could cover the wages of about €3M per year which could mean that, in worst case scenario (dry loan, no option), Inter would still save €6M in gross wages. That could then be allocated to further reinforcing Conte’s team in signing Dzeko and Vidal.
