Napoli not convinced, PSG only want him in 2020 as Cavani's replacement, Roma offer was too little: Icardi will only wait for Juventus
Everyone wants him but who is going to actually acquire the player? Mauro Icardi is liked by all the big Italian clubs but in his mind and that of his wife and agent Wanda Nara, the ideas are common and there’s only one: Juventus.
The Bianconeri were first to make move for the Argentinian at the end of February with Fabio Paratici putting on the table five-year deal, €8M plus bonuses per season: offer appreciated and greatly endorsed by the Icardi family. In the meantime, in the last few weeks, De Laurentiis and his director Giuntoli raised the pressure by offering also a five-year deal at €7.5M plus bonuses. But it did not change the thought process of the Argentinian.
From abroad, PSG asked for information (to replace Cavani in 2020) in addition to Boca Juniors and Chinese side Beijing Gouan, but all these options never gained any momentum because Icardi is not inclined to move abroad. Same goes with Roma as the Giallorossi offered only €6M per season.
Juventus know that they are the favorite and thus they continue to delay and aim to close on the final days of the window, trying to get the most favorable conditions possible given the relationship between Inter and Icardi is unfixable. Marotta and Ausilio are asking for at least €60M-€70M cash or in exchange with Paulo Dybala whom Juventus intend to sell abroad.
