With renewed desire and motivation, Lukaku and Sanchez look for redemption after getting kicked out of Manchester

Alexis Sanchez will find himself next to Romelu “The Giant” Lukaku: together at United, they played 28 Premier League matches (16 wins, 6 draws, 6 defeats) and started on 15 of those occasions.

At the beginning, it was successful: on February 3rd 2018, the day of Sanchez’s first goal against Huddersfield, in that game Lukaku also scored. Only one more time that they both hit the target together: 2-0 against Swansea on March 31st 2018. The two were on the pitch at Wembley on May 19th 2018 in FA Cup final won by Chelsea of Conte.

In total, they played together 37 times, with 15 goals for Lukaku and 5 for Sanchez. These are not dazzling numbers, it’s true, but there is great desire to revenge for both as they ended up getting kicked out of Manchester United. That alone is enough motivation.

“We are great friends,” Sanchez said at the World Cup in Russia. “We often go out together and we talk a lot about trying to improve.”

Now at Pinetina, Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku will again have the opportunity to work side by side, trying to bring Inter back to the very top. In England, they had little chance to really play as an attacking pair but in Antonio Conte’s 3-5-2, it will be normal and usual to see them together.

Alexis is still far from best condition after returning from Copa America but when he’s 100%, he will compete with Lautaro for that starting spot. Antonio Conte, Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez: three veterans from the Premier League that want to have a huge voice in Serie A.
