Two years later, a very happy Antonio Conte finally gets to coach Romelu Lukaku

“I only wanted Inter because Inter are Not For Everyone. I am happy and I intend to bring the Nerazzurri back to glory.” For his very first words as a new Inter player, Lukaku chose the campaign slogan that the club launched less than a month ago.

The announcement came in mid-afternoon, after medical exams in the morning (first at Humanitas and then at CONI), lunch on the 10th floor with Zhang, club directors, Pastorello and then the signing of contract until 2024. Antonio Conte is very happy and in a well-known Milanese restaurant on Wednesday night, he toasted the most expensive signing in Inter’s history with Zhang, Marotta, Ausilio and Baccin.

The former Italian coach finally got to embrace the striker at Appiano Gentile, someone that Conte had been chasing since 2017 when he asked Chelsea and then saw United stealing him away from last minute. Facing the inclusion of Juventus, he feared the same result but due to a new offer on Wednesday and especially the no of Dybala to Manchester United, Conte now gets to work with Romelu.
