Lukaku: "I didn't want to stay in England anymore. Scudetto? We have new coach, new team, new system so it's one game at a time for us"
Speaking to ESPN, Romelu Lukaku once again discusses the transition from Manchester United to Inter this past summer.
“It was the perfect time for me to leave England, I didn’t want to stay there anymore. This group of players here is special. Inter are an ambitious club and it wants to go where it needs to be and I want to help them build something here. Inter are the right choice for me.
“Conte? He’s just like the rest of the players, especially those that just got here, in the sense that it seems like he’s been here for many years. It’s the strangest thing. Scudetto? I don’t think that you can say that ‘we must win it’ because there is a new coach, new team, new way to play and so we will see one game at a time. We are learning and we must continue to do so the right way. We must make sure that every time a team faces Inter that it is going to be a battle.”
Lukaku also mentions how Conte sent him to a nutritionist after his arrival in Milan: “Normally I have a very good digestive system, I digest everything very quickly. That’s how it has been all my life. But what the nutritionist told me that it had stopped working. I’m fine now, my body too.”
